To qualify for the Affordable Warmth Scheme, you must:

  • Be in receipt of Child Tax credit with an income of less than £15,860
  • Be in receipt of Pension Credit along with your State Pension

OR be in receipt of either:

  • Income-based job seeker’s allowance
  • or Income-related employment and support allowance
  • or Income support
  • together with one of the following:

    • Disabled child premium
    • Responsible for a child under 16 who lives at the property
    • Responsible for a child aged between 16 and 20 in full time education other than higher education who lives at the property.
    • Pension premium,higher pension premium or enhanced pension premium
    • Child tax credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
    • Disability premium,enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
    • A work related activity or support component (only with Income-related employment and support allowance).

OR be in receipt of

  • Working tax credit, relevant income* below £15,860
  • together with one of the following:

    • Responsible for a child under 16 who lives at the property
    • Responsible for a child aged between 16 and 20 in full time education other than higher education who lives at the property.
    • Receive a disabled worker element or severe disability element
    • Be aged 60 or over

*Relevant Income: Total income including benefits.

Proof of home ownership or tenancy will be required together with proof of income and benefits. If you are a tenant your Landlords consent will be needed before work can be carried out.

Eligibility will be checked when the surveyor attends the property to carry out the assessment. This will include checking and copying of relevant documents.
