The Business Cost Of Going Green
The first issue is not what will it cost to go GREEN the real issue is what will it cost if you don’t.
Business owners always have to consider the bottom line and the bottom line is the profitability of a business and what can be done to increase it.
In the past the method was reduce costs to increase profits but throw in the GREEN equation and the old business model no longer has the same relevance. Reducing costs can only go so far before the efficiency of the company comes into question.
All businesses have budgets that cover marketing and costs and these costs include fuel, heating, lighting, energy, travel, communications etc among many others that can conservatively be in the region of 25% – 40% of gross turnover.
With VAT now at 20% these costs are only going to increase so investing now in going GREEN is a way to improve sustainability in a business.
